What makes our practice unique?

Man smilingDr. Quintana started her practice with a vision to provide personalized care. She allows time to talk with her patients and does not want her patients to feel rushed. The time is taken to discuss all concerns involving your treatment, and she understands that your individual needs may seem overwhelming at first. Dr. Quintana gladly invites her patients to follow up and call if there are any further questions.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

To see an in-depth overview of what to expect during your first appointment, see our First Visit page.

Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?

Yes. We accept many types of dental insurance and will process your claim for you upon receipt of your co-payment. We offer a zero-interest monthly payment plan through CareCredit and also accept most major credit cards.

How often should I see a dentist?

The American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines recommend visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a check-up and professional cleaning. Our office also recommends a minimum of two visits per year.

At what age should my children first see a dentist?

It is recommended that your child see the dentist by age 3. If a dental problem is suspected before this time, we recommend making an appointment. Our goal is to make trips to the dentist as comfortable as possible. Children who enjoy the dentist will become adults who enjoy coming to the dentist as well. We encourage our parents to bring the children to tour our office before their first appointment. Observing other siblings or parents have their own check-up is a great idea as well.

My gums bleed after brushing. Should I be concerned?

Gums that bleed after brushing indicate that there is gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) present. If left untreated, it can lead to periodontal disease, which causes the loosening of teeth and eventual tooth loss. There are not any common symptoms of pain associated with periodontal disease; the only way to detect it early on is to make sure you visit the dentist every six months. The dentist will take measurements of your gums and radiographs to evaluate your pocket depths and bone levels. If detected early, periodontal disease is easily treated and maintained.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?

There are several options for whitening your teeth. For the fastest results, we provide in-office Zoom! Whitening. Teeth whitening trays will produce the results you want in as short as 2-3 weeks. We also offer whitening strips at a higher concentration than can be purchased in stores. Regardless of what bleaching option you choose, it is important to be under the supervision of a dentist. Be sure to first have an exam and cleaning to get the best results possible.

I want to straighten my teeth without braces. What are my options?

There are several options available, including bonding, veneers and Invisalign®. If your teeth need a little recontouring, bonding and reshaping is ideal. Veneers are a great option when you need to correct overcrowding and address the color of your teeth. Invisalign is a great option to straighten your teeth, and it does not require wires, brackets or metal. Invisalign works with aligners that are custom fit to your teeth.

If you want to know if you are a good candidate for these procedures, discuss it with your dentist at your next appointment.

I am anxious in dental offices. How can I subdue this?

When a patient first comes to our office, we address both their dental concerns and their level of anxiety. We discuss with our patients what exactly has triggered this anxiety, and provide our patients with nitrous oxide for relaxation. We also will help talk our patients through the procedure. Make sure to discuss with Dr. Quintana any concerns you have about anxiety or past traumatic experiences.

What if I have a dental emergency?

If you have an emergency during regular office hours please call the office as soon as possible and we will make arrangements to accommodate you that day. If your emergency is after office hours, please call the emergency contact number and Dr. Quintana will return your call as soon as possible. If your emergency requires immediate medical attention after hours, please call 911.
